About HWRC

In February 2009, an innovative idea sparkled in Bennichan's mind and formed “Handicapped Welfare Rehabilitation & Charitable Trust' (HWRC). An official registration was done in the Sub-Register's Office, Changanacherry. A dream was being fulfilled for Bennichan then. Govt.of India's Income Tax 12A, 80 G Certificate was able to be obtained, by which donors to this trust get a 50% Tax Exemption.

Vision

Disabled to be brought into the forefront of the society. His goal is to support and train people with disabilities, to empower them to take matters into their own hands. Advocate for inclusion of people with disabilities. Eradicate marginalization of people with disabilities in a sustainable manner.

Mission

House maintenance, Self Employment scheme, Medical Aid, Food supply.

Pension Scheme

A monthly pension of Rs 500/- each to 60 families being paid since 3 years. All of them disabled categories and unable to work. Bennichan did not have the faintest idea how to arrange the fund needed for this purpose. But, he was strong willed and his determination made it fruitful.

Karunnya Sparsam Puraskaram is yet another noble idea that came to the mind of Bennichan. Honouring those who give a helping hand to the Disabled in the society. It started in 2013 and it was Former Supreme Court Judge, Padmabhusan Justice KT. Thomas who presided over the inaugural function.

Bennichan's dream never ends. A unique Rehabilitation Centre for the Differently Abled is what this visionary has in his mind. A residential campus blended with nature with no strict time table. This, he wants because the inmates should feel at home during their entire stay in the campus. A leisure life...

Tailor-made service to people with various impairments and provide a community based rehabilitation. The best form of rehabilitation for the physically challenged and that should be seen as a model for all other types of rehabilitation. Social participation is the ultimate goal of such rehabilitation.
